Are you experiencing a dental emergency in Genoa? At Genoa Smiles, we’re here to help! With same-day appointments usually available, Dr. Justin and our team can provide you with the care you need on your schedule. If you think you are experiencing a dental emergency, come in right away to ensure the best possible outcome for your dental health.
We consider a dental emergency to be any oral health issue that you cannot treat on your own and is causing you pain, discomfort, or bleeding. However, there are a number of different common dental emergencies including toothaches, bleeding gums, dental infections, and loose dental work (fillings, crowns, etc). If your condition meets these criteria, come to our office right away.
A toothache usually indicates either a serious cavity or an infected tooth. Signs of an infected tooth include discoloration of the affected tooth and the nearby gums, inflammation near the site, sensitivity to pressure and temperature, and a toothache. If you do have an infected tooth, root canal therapy will be necessary to remove the source of the infection and save your tooth. If your tooth is not infected, Dr. Justin will most likely recommend a dental filling to restore your tooth. The sooner you get treatment, the sooner you will get relief from your pain.
Bleeding gums are often an indication that they are unhealthy. If your gums are bleeding, you may have a serious case of gum disease that should be treated with periodontal care right away. Our restorative treatments can reverse the earliest stage of gum disease, so don’t wait until you notice more severe symptoms! Early treatment is critical to ensure your teeth are not permanently damaged.
If your gums are bleeding due to cuts and lacerations from oral injury and blood flow does not slow or stop within 1-2 hours, you may need to get stitches. Give us a call to see how we can help you.
This may not seem like an urgent emergency, but it is important to get treatment as quickly as possible. If your filling or crown is loose or pulled-out, the vulnerable enamel underneath could decay or become damaged, causing further complications. Come to see us right away to have your dental work repaired or replaced.
Getting help right away relieves your immediate pain and discomfort. It also helps ensure you reduce your risk of complications, and gives you the highest possible chance of saving your damaged tooth. Emergency care saves you time and money, too. By getting immediate care and resolving your issue right away, you can avoid the more time-consuming, costly dental treatments that may be required if you delay your emergency treatment.
"This was our first appointment seeing the new dentist, Dr. Justin and the new hygienist. They were both amazing! Very personable, professional, knowledgeable, and just overall fantastic! My 9 year old clicked right away with the hygienist. Love the new coffee bar in the lobby! Who knew Dr. Justin was so crafty?!
Katrina does an amazing job with all of the insurance issues! She is very proficient in her job! Rebecca is another amazing employee!! She is very personable and genuinely cares about the patients!!
Do you need a new dentist, try Genoa Smiles!!"
"Dr. Justin has taken over from Dr. Dave. Don't worry, he provides the same excellent, caring service that I am used to having. He explains options to you and involves you in your care. He has just expanded his hours which really helps me meet my appointments. As a retired educator, he would be excellent with small children just starting at the dentist through post high school. I have friends that have already transferred to him and are very pleased. I drive 45 minutes to have him as my dentist. I know of others that drive even longer for his great dental care."
